Compared with traditional swing-type and lift-type check valves, axial check valves adopt a valve core structure that moves along the valve body axis, combined with a precise spring return design. This enables low resistance and fast response during medium flow. According to industry test data, high-quality axial check valves have a fluid resistance coefficient of only 60% that of traditional products under rated conditions, and the valve core closing response time can be shortened to less than 0.05 seconds. This advantage makes them particularly prominent in scenarios involving the transportation of easily vaporizable or high-viscosity media.


Technical Diversification for Targeted Applications


Axial check valves are not a one-size-fits-all solution—they are categorized into three main types based on working principles and structural designs to adapt to diverse industrial needs. "In the catalytic cracking unit of a petroleum refining plant, the medium flows at high speed and contains particulate impurities. Traditional check valves often experience seal failure due to valve core jamming, leading to equipment shutdowns. However, the streamlined valve body design of axial check valves reduces medium turbulence, and the cemented carbide seal surface significantly improves wear resistance—extending their service life by more than 3 times compared to traditional products," said Mr. Wang, an equipment engineer at a large petrochemical enterprise. He added that since the introduction of axial check valves last year, the unplanned shutdowns of the unit he oversees have decreased by 70%, saving the enterprise over one million yuan in maintenance costs annually.
In low-temperature environments, axial check valves also outperform conventional alternatives. In LNG (liquefied natural gas) transportation systems, where the medium temperature plummets to -162°C, ordinary check valves’ sealing materials tend to brittle and fail.
